Yoga + Brunch
at Waterside

The Waterside Bar & Kitchen, West Bridgford, Nottingham

Two of my favourite things: yoga and brunch.
In that order. On purpose.

We will flow through 75 minutes of feel-good yoga in Waterside’s gorgeous conservatory, and if the sun is out, we will throw open the bifold doors and practise on the riverside terrace.

Then, while you are still floaty and glowing, brunch and a hot drink land in front of you.

What your Sunday looks like

Flow first. Feast second.

We start at 10am with a 75-minute yoga class overlooking the river.

Expect a feel-good, accessible flow with plenty of options. Brand new to yoga? Absolutely welcome. Bendy old hand? You are in too.

At around 11.30am, we roll up our mats and settle in for brunch.

You will have chosen your food when you booked, so there is no queuing, no bill and no decisions to make on the day. The kitchen knows exactly when we finish, and your only real responsibility is deciding what you fancy eating beforehand.

Your ticket includes

Everything’s taken care of

75 minutes of feel-good yoga

A riverside practice suitable for all levels.

Brunch, and a hot drink to be confirmed

Choose your brunch when you book. It is all included in your ticket.

No hanging around

The kitchen knows when we finish, so brunch follows yoga without the usual Sunday cafe faff.

A gorgeous riverside setting

We will practise in the conservatory, or head onto the terrace if November decides to be unexpectedly glorious.

Drinks are still being confirmed with the venue, so treat the hot drink as to be confirmed for now.

Now for the important bit

What are you having?

  • Full English
  • Eggs Benedict
  • Eggs Florentine
  • Fruit Salad & Granola
  • Smoked Salmon & Crushed Avocado on Granary Toast

Choose when you book and we will take care of the rest. Brunch is included in your ticket.

Why yoga + brunch?

I’ve been doing this for a while

I have been hosting yoga brunches in some of Nottingham’s loveliest gastropubs since 2019, and this might be the prettiest spot yet.

There is something rather lovely about practising together and then actually having time to sit, eat and chat afterwards, rather than rolling up your mat and disappearing straight back into real life.

Come with a friend or come on your own.

Yoga brunches are famously good at turning strangers on neighbouring mats into people swapping numbers over poached eggs.

Meet Lee-ann

I’ll be the one at the front

I’m Lee-ann. I have been teaching yoga since 2015 and have taught more than 1,400 hours of classes.

My classes are warm, accessible and very much about working with the body you actually brought with you that morning, not the one you think you are supposed to have.

You do not need to be flexible. You do not need fancy leggings. And you definitely do not need to know what you are doing before you arrive.

I will take care of the yoga. The Waterside Bar & Kitchen will take care of brunch.

You just need to turn up.

What previous yogis say

Real students, real words

I've been attending Lee-ann's yoga classes in Hucknall for over 2 years now and I love it, it's genuinely the highlight of my week. Lee-ann is so welcoming and helpful when it comes to getting into poses correctly, I feel like I can ask questions during the class which I so appreciate.

Beth

Hucknall, Nottingham

I love coming to practice with Lee-Ann and taking part in the beautiful offerings of yoga asana, meditation, mantra and the sound baths. No matter how I am feeling when I arrive I always feel welcome and like we all belong, it is a joy to practice together, the energy is beautiful.

Caroline

Yoga Practitioner & Therapeutic Mentor

As with everything Lee-ann does, her sunny spirit and genuine care about everyone in her class make for a lovely experience. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to deepen their practice.

Anything else?

I've never done yoga before. Is this for me? +

Absolutely. Brand new to yoga or bendy old hand, you are in. I will give you options throughout the class so you can practise in a way that works for your body.

Can I come on my own? +

Please do. You absolutely won't be the only one. Yoga brunches are particularly lovely for this because by the time we sit down to eat, you have already spent 75 minutes sharing a room with everyone.

What do I need to bring? +

Your yoga mat, comfortable clothes you can move in and perhaps a layer for relaxation at the end.

Where are we practising? +

In Waterside’s gorgeous conservatory overlooking the river. If the weather is kind, we will throw open the bifold doors and take our mats onto the riverside terrace.

How does brunch work? +

Choose your dish when you book. The kitchen will have everyone’s choices in advance and knows exactly when our class finishes. No ordering, no queuing and no bill landing on the table afterwards. It is all included.

I have a dietary requirement or an allergy. Can you help? +

Yes. There is a box on the booking form for exactly this. Tell me what I need to know and I will pass it to the kitchen well before the day.

When do bookings close? +

Friday 30th October, so we can give the kitchen everyone’s choices ahead of Sunday.

What is your refund policy? +

I really hope you do not need to cancel, but I understand life gets life-y. Cancel on or before Wednesday 29th October and you get a refund, minus a small admin fee of £2 to cover the payment charges I cannot get back. After that the ticket is non-refundable, because the kitchen has our numbers. If you would rather pass your place to a friend, just let me know and I will move it over.

I have an access need. Who do I talk to? +

Me, before you book. We practise in the conservatory rather than upstairs, but I would rather hear what you need from the day and check the detail with the venue myself than have you guess. Email me and I will sort it.

I do not have the right props. +

No problem. Blocks and straps can be swapped for a sturdy book, a blanket or a belt. The one thing worth having is a decent mat, for cushioning and so you do not slip. I cannot lend you one, but supermarkets sell them cheaply, and I can source studio-quality mats at my teacher discount if you would like one.

Your Sunday morning is sorted

75 minutes of yoga by the river.

Brunch waiting afterwards.

Nothing to organise once you arrive.
